Shuwen Li

Shuwen teaches ENG282 Writing and Speaking in Business and co-teaches DSGN106 Design Thinking and Communication (DTC) with faculty from the McCormick School of Engineering. Prior to joining Northwestern, Shuwen taught academic, technical, and business communication at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Her research interests include technical and professional communication pedagogy, tactical technical communication, and ethos and trust. At Northwestern, Shuwen is interested in developing innovative business communication pedagogy and integrating writing-to-learn pedagogy into teaching design thinking. She serves as a member of the DTC Core Faculty Committee, a Faculty Fellow of the International Studies Residential College, and a member of the ISO committee on System Software Documentation.
