Writing Program Celebrates Jeannie Herrick

January 18, 2019

The beginnings of a storm didn't prevent dozens of faculty and staff from gathering to celebrate Jeannie Herrick's substantial contributions to Northwestern last Friday evening. While Herrick's last quarter teaching at Northwestern was winter 2018, her travel schedule had prevented her colleagues from organizing a formal gathering until now.

It was worth the wait. The evening included amusing and heartfelt remarks from Herrick's colleagues in the Cook Family Writing Program, the McCormick School of Engineering and Applied Science, and the Posse Scholars Foundation.  Herrick's own remarks paid tribute to her Writing Program colleagues and showcased the depth of her service.
